Roan Bateman began writing and performing music in High School in Toronto, Canada in the early 90s. He bought at 4-track cassette recorder in the mid 90s and began releasing (mostly) instrumental music for record labels run by close friends under the name Sleepy Mosquito. In 2006 Roan formed Dark Bird and began writing more song-based material. Most of the music is dark, dreamy and psychedelic.
